Gas Furnace Troubleshooting

This is a valuable course for learning basic gas furnace operation as well as improving troubleshooting skills. Technicians will learn to diagnose the two most common gas furnaces they are likely to encounter in the field – high-efficiency condensing furnaces and standing pilot-type furnaces. The class will explore the sequence of operation for these different types of furnaces in order to create a faster and more logical method for diagnostic procedures. This approach not only helps technicians on future service calls, but also allows them to share new diagnostic methods with other employees. This course will teach the technician not to be a “parts swapper” by exploring how to diagnose electrical parts using a voltmeter, an ohmmeter and an ammeter. Technicians earn 6 NATE CEHs toward re-certification in all specialties except Oil, Hydronics and Refrigeration and/or 3 BPI continuing education credits.
