Students will be able to properly install and start up Daikin 2 Wire SkyAir Key systems using preferred servicing equipment and procedures.

Objectives:

• Learner will be able to describe how to properly install the Daikin SkyAir refrigerant piping.

• Learner will be able to accurately describe the Daikin SkyAir components’ technology and benefits.

• Learner will be able to correctly install and start up a SkyAir system according to manufacturer’s requirements. Learner will be able to successfully demonstrate the set up and operation of Daikin’s SkyAir Remote Controllers.

This covers how to properly administer the installation practices for the Daikin VRV IV-X and Emerion indoor and outdoor equipment and accessories to include refrigerant piping, condensate piping and electrical wiring in accordance with current published literature guidelines using the proper tools and equipment. 

During this training program participants will learn:

• How to size an actuator based on damper torque requirements

• The differences between fail safe and non-fail safe actuators

• The control signals commonly used today in commercial HVAC

• How to select control signals based upon application

• How to identify the features and properties of Belimo actuators from the model number

• How to mount and wire fail safe and non-fail safe actuators

• Basic troubleshooting on the mounting and wiring of Belimo actuators

• The programming options available on Belimo Multi Function Technology (MFT) products

• The key differences between 2-way, 3-way and 6-way valves

• The difference between mixing and diverting valves

• How to calculate the required Cv rating for a valve

• What the different valve flow characteristics mean

• How to identify valves by type (i.e. ball valve, globe valve etc.)

• How the Belimo pressure independent valve (PICCV & ePIV) works

• How the Belimo Energy Valve works including data collection and analysis
